Zotero supports German, English and many more languages in its user interface and its citation styles.
EndNote has an English interface and contains English citation styles. You can download German citation styles at Citation styles at HNU.

Zotero is easy to use, but its citation style editor is complicated.
EndNote is not as easy to use as Zotero, but its citation style editor is easier to understand.

Download the installation file for Zotero from the Zotero download page (opens in a new window) and open it to install Zotero. (You can find help and more information in the Zotero documentation (opens in a new window).)
Install the Zotero Connector (also found on the aforementioned Zotero download page (opens in a new window)). The Zotero Connector is a browser plugin for Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari: You can use it for saving items you found online into your Zotero library.
Check if your word processing software already contains the Zotero plugin (i. e. a Zotero tab within the menu bar). The plugin should have been installed during the Zotero installation, but if it is still missing in your preferred word processing software (Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, Google Docs), you can install it manually: Please follow the steps in the Zotero documentation (opens in a new window).
