08.07.2024, Press Release :

The farewell ceremony for this year's graduates of Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) took place against a particularly festive backdrop on Friday, July 5, 2024: 775 guests celebrated 233 successful Bachelor's and Master's graduates of HNU at the Ulm Congress Centrum. The Neu-Ulm University Prize awarded on this evening went to graduate Lisa Steurer for her outstanding Bachelor's thesis.

In a very special year - HNU's anniversary year - this year's HNU graduates have received their diplomas. The university is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a festive program of 30 HNU anniversary events that represent its diversity and innovative spirit. As one of these events, the Graduate Gala 2024 was also held under the HNU anniversary motto "30Y - HNU connects."

Team spirit meets innovative and entrepreneurial spirit: Graduates are ready for the future

HNU President Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser opened the graduation gala in the anniversary year with great praise: "Not only HNU looks back on your beginnings this year, you too have an eventful academic journey behind you, with many significant milestones, development steps and challenges mastered. The finale of this journey has been an outstanding success for you!". This refers not only to outstanding grades - a Bachelor's degree in Business Psychology with a grade of 1.1 and a Master's degree in Advanced Management with a grade of 1.0 - but also to the specialist knowledge and interdisciplinary skills that the graduates have acquired at HNU. "In numerous practical projects, you have proven that you can work both among yourselves and hand in hand with our partners from industry on ideas for current challenges.

Neu-Ulm's spokesperson for future issues, Robert Schwarz, also combined his congratulations with a review of the successful cooperation between the city and HNU students. According to Robert Schwarz, the city of Neu-Ulm would be delighted if the new graduates decided on a professional future in this prosperous region of innovation.

Excellent thesis: Lisa Steurer receives the Neu-Ulm University Prize

Lisa Steurer, a graduate of the Information Management and Corporate Communications course, was able to celebrate the culmination of her outstanding achievements: she received the Neu-Ulm University Prize for her bachelor's thesis, donated by the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences sponsorship association. Steffen Fromm, board member of the association, presented the prize together with HNU Vice President Prof. Dr. Julia Kormann. In her thesis, Lisa Steurer researched the identification of employees with Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, taking into account heritage communication, and received a grade of 1.0 for her work.

Honoring StuVer members for their commitment to the university

And that's not all the honors: Prof. Dr. Julia Kormann also honored those graduates who had stood up for their fellow students during their studies as part of the StuVer student representation. Hanno Frenzel, Valentina Michels, Magdalena Mies and Julia Wilhelm were presented with a certificate for their contribution to a diverse and colorful campus life at HNU.

Highlight with tradition: graduates threw their hats in the air

The certificates were presented by faculty, after which all students from the respective faculties gathered for the graduation photo with the traditional hat toss. Background music was provided by the HNU Choir under the direction of Markus Romes, Jo! Loop during the champagne reception and buffet sponsored by the Förderverein, and the Roadstring Army later in the evening.
