Renowned guests at the Photobook Talks of the HNU in the town house Ulm

04.09.2023, Press Release :

What current trends are shaping artistic photo books? What does the future of this medium look like? These are the questions that will be addressed at the free Photobook Talks event at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) on September 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Stadthaus Ulm. Guests will be internationally renowned photographer Todd Hido, photobook expert Brad Feuerhelm and Swiss book designer Nicolas Polli.

Offered are glimpses of selected works, a presentation by HNU professor Danny Franzreb, and a panel discussion on the perspectives of the photo book, featuring artists as well as publishers Hartmann Books, Ciao Press, and Nearest Truth Editions.

Danny Franzreb is a professor of design and photographer. His photographic projects explore the transformative impact of modern society, capturing stories of people and places undergoing significant change. His work has won awards such as the IPA in Gold and the Emerging Photography Award and has been shown at Rotterdam Photo, among others.

"With Photobook Talks, I want to create an event that brings photographers together - especially in an artistic context - and initiates a public exchange," explains the HNU professor. "The event reflects our university's activities in this field and, in its transfer function, provides a regional platform for discourse on photography as an art form."

The Photobook Talks at Neu-Ulm University are held in cooperation with the Stadthaus Ulm and are supported by the Förderverein der Hochschule Neu-Ulm. The event will be held in English. Tickets are available free of charge via Eventbrite.
