26.02.2021, Press Release :

Minister of Science Bernd Sibler presents certificate of appointment and congratulates on fourth term of office: "Continue successful work and convincing, chosen course of the past 15 years".

MUNICH. Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser received the certificate of appointment for her fourth term at the helm of the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) from the hands of Science Minister Bernd Sibler in Munich today. The Minister emphasised: "Professor Feser has led Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences during the past 15 years as President prudently, wisely and with a clear view to the future. The path she has taken speaks of determination and a sense of the future. She has expanded the university in many different ways, developed and sharpened its profile. HNU is a highly valued partner in the region, a fixture in the Bavarian higher education landscape and firmly integrated into international networks. I am very pleased that President Feser will continue her successful work and the convincing course she has set during her fourth term in office. All the best for the next five years!"
Prof. Dr. Feser stated, "Many thanks to our Minister of Science, Bernd Sibler. By being re-elected and reappointed, I feel confirmed in my efforts for the further development of HNU. Especially in the current times, the corporate culture that we live at the HNU is proving its worth: modern, innovative, digital-flexible and sustainable. I look forward to continuing my efforts to advance Neu-Ulm as a place to study and to strengthen the university's attractiveness for academics and potential employees. In the coming years, we will continuously sharpen the profile of the HNU and strengthen the quality of its services as well as its innovative strength at all levels. This extends to all our core areas such as teaching, Postgraduate studies, research and transfer as well as to the expansion of the focus on entrepreneurship and start-ups with the support of our joint project StartupSüd."

Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser was first elected President of Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences in 2006. During her three terms in office, the number of students has doubled from just under 2,000 to around 4,000. The range of degree programmes has grown continuously to 13 Bachelor's and 7 Master's programmes. Most recently, the new Bachelor's degree programmes in Business Psychology and Physician Assistant started in the summer semester of 2020. Their tenures are also associated with the expansion of the HNU's premises. In 2008, a representative new building with a floor space of around 6,500 m² was occupied. Since 2018, this has been supplemented by another new building with around 3,900 m². Since HNU's leases are also spatially close, President Feser has developed HNU into a campus university. In 2020, the university also opened a technology transfer centre in Günzburg for Big Data-based marketing.
The next few years will be marked by a sharpening of the profile of the HNU. In addition to strengthening entrepreneurship and research, the focus will be on further expanding the range of courses offered at the HNU and, in connection with this, training specialists in the health and IT sectors in the region.
