Award-winning employer: HNU is a "Great Place to Work®"

19.02.2021, Press Release :

A very good work-life balance, recognition for work done and a productive working environment: Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) scored above average with its employees in the certification process of the Great Place to Work® Institute. For the overall results, the university has been awarded the renowned "Great Place to Work certified" seal of quality. The assessment was based on a survey of employees and an analysis of the corporate culture.

In a two-stage certification process, the independent research and consulting institute first surveyed how satisfied the employees of the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) are in key areas of workplace culture. In April 2020, all HNU employees were asked to rate their employer in an anonymous online survey. 122 employees took part in the survey and rated HNU in the five dimensions of credibility, respect, fairness, team spirit and pride. An analysis of the corporate culture ("culture audit") completed the process.

Great Place to Work® certification: Excellent report and new impetus for the HNU

Satisfied and motivated employees are a basic prerequisite for the success of the HNU, explains President Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser: "We are proud that our employees have given us this good report card. The award is an incentive for us to expand our workplace culture even further in the future". The detailed analysis of the results provides the corresponding impulses for further optimisation of employee friendliness at the HNU.

HNU employees feel encouraged above average to have a good work-life balance

HNU scored above average in the area of work-life balance: The results are more than a third above the external benchmark. The university is also 25 per cent above the Germany-wide benchmark in the recognition of good work performance. 90 percent of HNU employees also emphasise the flexible working hours that the university offers them. The HNU workplace achieves top scores in terms of working environment: 89 percent and 87 percent of those surveyed rated the buildings and facilities or the equipment for good work particularly positively.

With the successful certification, the HNU has now also qualified for participation in the upcoming 2021 employer competition of the Great Place to Work Institute®.
