HNU student from Vietnam receives DAAD Prize 2024

Hang Nguyen, a Master's student on the International Corporate Communication and Media Management course at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU), was awarded the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Prize 2024 for her outstanding achievements on 27 November 2024. The prize, which is endowed with 1,000 euros, recognises her excellent academic achievements and intercultural competence.

As part of International Week, Prof. Dr. Elmar Steurer, Internationalisation Officer at HNU, awarded the prize to Ms Hang Nguyen. In his speech, he congratulated the student and emphasised her remarkable academic achievements: "Ms Nguyen impresses me with her extraordinary commitment to her studies and beyond. In the projects in her subjects, she not only demonstrates her ability to work in a team, but above all her intercultural competence. I warmly congratulate her on the DAAD Prize 2024!"

Experienced student with several honours

Hang Nguyen came to HNU in September 2023 for her Master's degree. She is currently doing an internship in Strategic Communication at DHL Global Forwarding. She also gained professional experience before studying at HNU, including at Gameloft Vietnam, where she worked as a Communication & Office Coordinator in HR and was honoured with the "Most Valuable Player Award" and the "Most Valuable Team Award".

"This award is a significant personal milestone for me and an incredible honour. It recognises my journey in Germany, my adaptation to a new culture, my personal and professional growth and at the same time honours my home country. The DAAD prize is more than just an award: it is a reminder of how valuable intercultural dialogue is and inspires me to actively engage in communities," she said after the award ceremony.
