Members of the Institute for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Sustainability (IfE) at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) jointly presented three papers at the ISPIM Innovation Conference 2024, one of which was nominated for the Knut Holt Award. The event, which was held in Tallinn (Estonia) from June 9 to 12, was held under the motto "Local Innovation Ecosystems for Global Impact".

At this year's ISPIM (International Society for Professional Innovation Management) conference, around 500 participants from 50 countries gathered in the Estonian capital to take part in over 280 presentations, workshops and panel discussions in the field of innovation management. Among the speakers were IfE members from HNU, who presented their research to an international audience of experts.

HNU researchers contribute in the field of digital transformation and entrepreneurship

In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Daniel Schallmo addressed the need for a deeper understanding of the success factors of digital transformation. Based on a systematic literature review and a bibliomantic analysis, he developed a new holistic model for digital transformation. The model provides guidance for organizations in overcoming transformation challenges and represents an important contribution to both academic discourse and practitioners in this field.

Tal Bergman presented the paper "Digital Implementation as a Driver of Successful Digital Entrepreneurship", co-authored with Prof. Dr. Daniel Schallmo. The paper was nominated for the Knut Holt Award for the best conference contribution. The researchers' findings show that digital start-ups are constantly learning and evolving dynamically, taking into account the logic of cause and effect, in order to support established companies in solving their challenges.

In her paper, Verena Mattes provided answers to the question of how entrepreneurial ecosystems can be effectively designed and cultivated. The research included an analysis and expert interviews to identify success factors that are transferable to different entrepreneurial ecosystems.
