Workshops, company visits and intercultural experiences: As part of the Economics course, students of Business Administration and Business Psychology at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) visited the University of Rwanda. The excursion was sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Under the direction of Prof. Dr Thorsten Neumann, the students travelled to the cities of Kigali and Musanze. The group was hosted by one of HNU's partner institutions, the University of Rwanda, where a joint entrepreneurship workshop and an intercultural workshop took place. The aim was to promote cooperation and innovation and provide intercultural education.

Insights into companies

In addition, the students visited the companies Golden Insect, Inyange Industries Ltd. and the industrial partner Sina Gerard Ese Urwibutso. The German institutions Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), the German Embassy and Deutsche Sparkassenstiftung also took the time to introduce the group to their work. These visits provided valuable insights into the local business landscape and development economics. The students found the experience very enriching and eye-opening. It emphasised the importance of intercultural exchange and the potential for effective partnerships.
