In July 2024, two Circular Economy certificate courses, jointly developed by HNU and University of Rwanda, were offered at the University of Rwanda campus as part of the Rwanda-CAE project.

On July 27 and 28, the “Circular Agri-Food Systems” course was held at the impressive and brand new UR Innovation and Incubation Center UniPod on the campus of the College for Science and Technology (CST) in Kigali. 26 participants from various sectors (government, associations, companies, private individuals) spent the weekend in lively exchange, discussions and creative group work and were able to gain numerous new insights.

On July 30 and 31, the “Design Thinking for Agri-Food Innovations” course took place in the beautiful buildings of the School of Architecture and Built Environment on the same CST campus. 27 participants from different disciplines worked in groups to develop solution prototypes for five current challenges facing the Rwandan agri-food sector.</p

The courses were organized, hosted and led by Dr. Nathan Taremwa (UR, CAVM).
