On March 30th, 2022, the Institute for Digital Transformation (IDT) of the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences organized the seventh IDT Open Lab on the subject of "Digital Platforms in the B2B Environment". Experts from research, teaching and practice on the challenges and possible uses of digital possibilities. With over 40 participants, the event took place online again.

A total of six representatives from research and practice presented their expertise on the subject of digital platforms in keynote speeches of ten minutes each. This gave all participants an insight into the topic of data economy via digital platforms, which is becoming increasingly important for medium-sized companies. It was reported how medium-sized companies can use digital platforms to bring supply and demand together and optimize or simplify existing processes. The topic of the lectures was also the adaptability of platforms. Depending on the industry, customers and the associated standards, the networks can adapt to the needs of their users, increase effectiveness and reduce costs. The speakers reported on why the topic of digital platforms in the B2B environment is becoming increasingly important, what is needed to initiate digital platforms and which functions particularly characterize these networks. In addition, use cases were presented in order to get to know practical examples beyond the theory.
