In the winter semester 21/22, the first eSports team of Neu-Ulm University (HNU) started in the German Uniliga. Every Tuesday Darkin played against other teams from all over Germany to collect points and thus have chances to get a good position within the table. The team trains several hours every week to prepare for the upcoming matches.
Behind Darkin is HNUeSports, a team of students who support the players in various areas. Analyst:ins conducted detailed opponent analysis, especially in the last few weeks when a possible promotion was at stake, to give Darkin an advantage in the games. Other students handled team logo, jerseys, and social media. In addition, the games were broadcast live on Twitch every Tuesday directly from HNU. The moderators and commentators guided viewers through the games, building a core audience that supported Darkin online during the games.
Congratulations to the team for a great performance and first place in the third division. In the future, HNU Darkin will not only compete in the Uniliga, but also in the Prime League. The Prime League is the League of Legends league for players from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
