Prof. Dr Phil­ipp Brune is the new sci­entific dir­ector of the TTZ Gün­zburg

The Technology Transfer Centre (TTZ) Günzburg has a new scientific director: Since November 2021, Prof. Dr. Philipp Brune has been managing the applied research and development in the field of artificial intelligence and data analytics conducted at the TTZ. Brune is a professor of business informatics at HNU, where he teaches and researches in the field of AI and data analytics applications, among other things.

The TTZ Günzburg brings together the expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) anchored at HNU with regional companies and thus supports them in mastering the digital transformation. "I am looking forward to the new task of providing scientific support to the TTZ Günzburg," says Prof. Dr. Philipp Brune. "The TTZ builds the bridge from scientific knowledge to practical implementation - it integrates and networks practice partners from idea generation to knowledge creation to knowledge utilisation in the entire process of applied research."

Focus of TTZ activities: cooperation with companies

Under the new scientific management, cooperation with local companies in applied research projects is to be expanded in a targeted manner and AI lighthouse projects are to be established in the region. Regular exchange will be expanded through the development of further network formats. The TTZ Günzburg

The Technology Transfer Centre Günzburg is an institution of the University of Applied Sciences Neu-Ulm and has existed since autumn 2020. Its main task is to transfer scientific findings in the field of artificial intelligence to companies in the region. In addition, the TTZ is available to individual companies as a university partner for R&D projects. The TTZ receives start-up funding from the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and Art until 2023 and is thus part of the research, technology and innovation strategy of the Bavarian State Government. The city of Günzburg and the district of Günzburg are co-financing the TTZ in the start-up phase and are providing the office and laboratory space for the TTZ, among other things.
