The doctoral colloquium combines two formats: Doctoral entrants in the first year of their doctorate (ideally in the first six months) can use the opportunity to present and discuss their topic. They are supported in developing a realistic timetable for their doctorate and receive assistance with collaborations (e.g. BayWISS) and applications (e.g. ethics vote). More advanced doctoral students (from the second year of their doctorate) have the opportunity to present their ongoing research project or a current publication and to obtain feedback and constructive criticism. In addition to the doctoral students, other interested parties of the HNU are also invited to attend the colloquium.
Thus, the interdisciplinary and cross-faculty approach allows for a broad exchange of methods and content on the one hand, and on the other hand, interdisciplinary or cross-faculty cooperation projects can be considered in this framework.
In the medium term, the project presentations are to be supplemented by additional events such as rhetoric courses or workshops on presentation techniques, in which doctoral students can also acquire interdisciplinary skills.
The doctoral colloquium will be held once a month on an ongoing basis, and in the summer semester of 2021 it will be held digitally, subject to the further development of Corona. It will take place for the first time on 09 April 2021 at 15.30 via Zoom.
Questions and registrations (doctoral students) can be directed to PD Dr. Elmar Buchner.
