The written examination therefore does not test factual knowledge in the classical sense, but rather determines, for example, reading comprehension of complex texts in German (with the help of comprehension questions), expressive ability in English (with the help of smaller essay tasks), the general ability to take a stand on political and economic issues or to weigh up the pros and cons of arguments. Mathematical skills are assessed by means of application tasks with a general economic reference.
