Digital innovations for the ageing society - DIAG

Demographic change is a global challenge. The average age of the population is increasing worldwide, often dramatically in the developed industrialized nations. This development is making itself felt in national healthcare systems, for example. The number of patients with age-related and chronic illnesses and care needs is increasing, while at the same time there are fewer and fewer nursing staff available. This results in the challenge of enabling ageing people to live independently in their own homes for longer.

The Digital Innovations for the Ageing Society (DIAG) research focus area is dedicated to digital innovations that make a decisive contribution to solving this macroeconomic problem.
