What was your main motivation to study at the HNU?

I was drawn to HNU for its hands-on learning and international vibe. It promised real-world application of studies which I found super exciting for personal and career growth. Plus, the idea of studying in such a diverse environment seemed like the perfect way to prepare for a career in today’s interconnected world.

What were your biggest concerns?

Adapting to a new country and academic system had me worried, not to mention the language barrier. But, thanks to HNU’s warm welcome and support like language classes and social events, I quickly felt at home. My fears were replaced by a sense of belonging and excitement.

Would you recommend a stay abroad? Why?

100% yes! It’s more than just an educational journey; it’s a personal adventure. You learn so much outside the classroom – from navigating cultural differences to making friends from around the world. It’s a unique experience that broadens your horizon like nothing else.

What did you learn from your stay abroad?

Living and studying abroad taught me adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and the value of diverse perspectives. These lessons go beyond academic learning, shaping you into a more empathetic and versatile individual.

Fun Fact

My entire social life for the first few months revolved around four German phrases: “Entschuldigung”, “mit karte bitte”, “Danke”, and “ein Bier, bitte”. At parties, I was like a poorly programmed chatbot saying “Genau”, but I always had a drink in my hand and a smile on my face!

Were your expectations met?

Absolutely. The experience was even richer than I anticipated. From engaging classes and projects with real-world applications to the deep connections I made, it exceeded all my expectations.

Moreover, the supportive community at HNU deserves a special mention. From faculty to fellow students, everyone's willing to help, guide, and inspire.
