What was your main motivation to go abroad?
I have thought about going abroad after I talked with my fellow students. I wasn’t sure about going abroad for a whole semester. Therefore I decided to attend a Summer School for three weeks. A Summer School is a good choice to get a feeling about how it is to live and study abroad.
Especially for those who are unsure whether they want to go abroad for a whole semester, a three week Summer School is the best way to get an insight into the life abroad.
What were your biggest concerns?
My biggest concerns were about the language. The English language is not that common as in Germany. However, it was possible to communicate with the help of apps and gestures.
Would you recommend a stay abroad? Why?
Definitely! Especially for those who are unsure whether they want to go abroad for a whole semester, a three week Summer School is the best way to get an insight into the life abroad.
Fun Fact
In South Korea it is normal to eat warm dishes for breakfast which we would rather eat for lunch or dinner. At the beginning it was very unfamiliar, but you get used to it quickly.
What did you learn from your stay abroad?
Through my time abroad I have grown beyond myself. Furthermore, I gained many new experiences, improved my English skills, learned a new language and met many new friends from all over the world.

Were your expectations met?
Yes, definitely. The Summer School in South Korea was one of the best trips I have ever made. Besides the lessons there was enough time to experience the Korean culture and to visit many sights.
