The foundation stone was laid on April 21 during a visit day at HNU. In small groups, the students created business models and business plans for five imaginary surfboard companies. This allowed them to collect innovative business ideas and create initial designs for the startups. From May 3 to 5, the startups were then brought to market as part of the TOPSIM business game at St. Hildegard Gymnasium. The task was to convince potential investors and to prove over four periods that the companies are strong enough to survive economic crises, even in competition with other startups, and to generate profits at the end of the simulation period. In addition, the students had the task of preparing and holding a general meeting with different analyses.
Feedback from participants and teachers was positive throughout. The business game allowed the students to experience the business of a startup and also to see how complex decisions in a company can be.
