HNU students visit European trade fair for digital health

17.04.2024, Study :

Connecting Digital Health - this is the motto of DMEA (Digital Medical Expertise and Applications), one of the largest trade fairs for digitalization in the healthcare sector in Europe.
The 28 students from the Faculty of Health Management at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) were in the right place. Together with Professor Dr. Sandra Krammer and research assistant Ann-Kathrin Waibel, they gathered information on political, economic and user-specific topics in the context of digital healthcare from 9 to 11 April.

What is driving healthcare IT today and in the future? The students found the answers at the DMEA in Berlin. An extensive programme consisting of keynotes, lectures, discussion panels and workshops offered students the opportunity to get an idea of digitalization in the healthcare sector and gain inspiration for planning their own career paths. Some HNU graduates were also on site as experts.

The topics covered at the fair ranged from change management in hospitals to electronic patient records, AI, telemedicine and information security to sustainability and data protection. The feedback from the students was consistently positive.

Prof. Dr. Sandra Krammer is also very satisfied with the visit to the fair: "I am delighted that we were able to offer students from the Faculty of Healthcare Management this opportunity. I am sure that we all returned to HNU not only informed, but also inspired."
