KompIGA addresses the shortage of skilled workers in the social and healthcare sectors by providing reference approaches for flexible and healthy work design, including concepts for attractive working time models, the integration of new skilled workers and the digitalization of processes. The joint project between the universities of Reutlingen, Ravensburg-Weingarten, Kempten and Neu-Ulm has been running since April 1, 2024 in collaboration with several practice partners. KompIGA is coordinated by Reutlingen University; HNU is responsible for the digitalization sub-project.
In addition to practical insights and impulses from science, the program of the kick-off event also included a panel discussion in which Prof. Dr. Johannes Schobel, who was on site together with other employees of the DigiHealth Institute, contributed in his function as sub-project manager.
HNU sub-project: Pioneering approaches for digitalization in the social and healthcare sector
In the discussion, the research professor for digital medicine and care presented various use cases in which digitalization needs to be advanced. The particular challenge here is that the nursing staff should be involved in the process, actively participate and be relieved by digitalization. The approaches are being developed with a model character: “Together with our partners, we want to develop lighthouse projects that will endure beyond KompIGA and can ultimately be adapted and used by other companies in the social and healthcare sectors,” explained Prof. Dr. Johannes Schobel.
KompIGA is being funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in the “Future of Value Creation - Research on Production, Services and Work” program for five years with 8.5 million euros and is being supervised by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA).
