Students enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme at German universities who are at least in their second semester can apply for the "New Kibbutz" funding programme. The DAAD only funds internships in high-tech start-up companies in Israel that have been arranged by the German-Israeli Chamber of Commerce Abroad (AHK) in Tel Aviv. The funding for "New Kibbutz" in the amount of 3.5 million euros comes from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
Selection criteria for the scholarship
Once they have been accepted for an internship, applicants can apply to the DAAD for a scholarship. The selection process does not involve a personal interview. Particularly important for a successful application are, among other things, academic qualifications, as measured by academic performance and reports, the quality of the project, a letter of motivation, knowledge of the language and the country, as well as extracurricular knowledge, which includes interest and social or voluntary commitment.
