HNU employee appointed to renowned Corporate Health Committee

23.05.2024, University News :

Professional competence and practical expertise: Christoph Giebeler, head of the family-friendly university audit and student health management at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU), has been appointed to the Corporate Health Management Committee.  This makes him one of Germany's leading company experts in corporate health management. In 2023, HNU's Student Health Management (SGM) demonstrated a pioneering role in the Corporate Health Award and received ‘Excellence Status’.

With an implementation rate of 89 per cent, HNU's SGM was above the average for all German universities in the Corporate Health Award 2023. Under the leadership of Christoph Giebeler, HNU passed the Corporate Health Audit with flying colours and Giebeler qualified to join the Corporate Health Committee. Its tasks include the further development of the Corporate Health Evaluation Standard, which makes a valuable contribution to the nationwide professionalisation of corporate health management.

Christoph Giebeler is delighted to have been recognised and says: ‘I am particularly looking forward to exchanging ideas with the many other experts on the committee in order to develop new ideas for HNU. At the same time, I am also happy to share our experiences and insights.’
HNU Vice President Prof. Dr Julia Kormann adds: ‘This award shows the high level of maturity of student health management at HNU and is an appreciation of our work. An important milestone on the way to university health management.’

His membership of the Corporate Health Management Committee is not the first time that Giebeler has been active in the field of university health management beyond HNU: at the beginning of this year, for example, he was appointed spokesperson for the AG Gesundheitsfördernde Hochschulen Südwest (Health Promoting Universities Southwest) and a member of the jury for the competition ‘Hochschulisches Gesundheitsmanagement: Partizipation erfolgreich gestalten’ (University Health Management: Successfully Shaping Participation).

About the committee
The Corporate Health Committee is a collaborative body with a practical background and was founded to involve not only academic experts but also corporate experts in the further development of the Corporate Health Evaluation Standard and to promote the exchange of knowledge. The aim is to achieve even greater practical relevance and to drive the certification landscape forward.
