Postgraduate Studies: launch of a one-day workshop series on AI

30.06.2023, Postgraduate :

Last week, the Centre for Postgraduate Studies (ZfW) of Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) held the kick-off of a new AI workshop series at the Vöhlinschloss University Centre. Under the theme "ChatGPT and Midjourney", participants were able to immerse themselves in the fascinating technology of artificial intelligence and discover the potential of generative IT.

Making experts and managers fit for the use of AI in their companies: That is the goal of the new workshop series organised by the ZfW in cooperation with the Institute for Digital Transformation (IDT) at HNU.

The first one-day workshop, which took place on 23 June in the Vöhlinschloss in Illertissen, was dedicated to the topic of "ChatGPT and Midjourney". The participants learned in a practical way not only how to use ChatGPT intelligently, but also how to develop their own AI applications. Prof. Dr. Achim Dehnert guided the workshop participants through the interactively designed programme and imparted his know-how in the field of AI.

The workshop marks an important step in the expansion of HNU's postgraduate studies programme in the field of artificial intelligence, as Prof. Dr. Klaus Lang, Director at IDT and expert in digital transformation, explained: "We are convinced that AI will disruptively change the world of work in the coming years and that new competencies are needed in companies to utilise the potential of AI".

Based on the positive feedback and the great demand, the HNU, which also sees itself as a further education partner for companies in the region, plans to continuously expand the further postgraduate studies offer in the field of AI. This includes, in particular, offering further one-day workshops on the topic of AI, conducting in-house training courses and, in particular, developing an "AI driver's licence" to give specialists and managers the opportunity to certify their knowledge and skills in the field of AI.
