On the ground, Felix Holl ensured the planning and coordination of the international medical aid teams in Moldova. As coordinator of the EMT coordination cell in the WHO country office, he was the first point of contact for the international teams and the Moldovan Ministry of Health. He was also responsible for the teams' daily reporting and quality assurance.
The Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences had released Holl for this voluntary work. Holl thanked HNU President Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser for this: "With this leave of absence, HNU has shown very well that it is an employer that lives up to its social responsibility."
For his commitment to the World Health Organization (WHO) in Moldova, Felix Holl received a letter of thanks from Dr. Gerald Rockenschaub, Director for Health Emergencies in the WHO European Region. It states, among other things (original in English): "On behalf of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, I would like to thank you for your hard and diligent work. The technical expertise, strategic thinking and coordination role you performed during your assignment for the EMT Coordination Cell in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, was greatly appreciated. This was essential in informing all three levels of the organization about ongoing developments in the health situation related to the influx of refugees in the country, as well as the response and support available at the country level."
About Felix Holl: PhD student, research assistant and paramedic.
Felix Holl has been employed at HNU since 2018 as a research assistant for digitalization in healthcare. Also since 2018, he has been a doctoral student at the Institute for Medical Information Processing, Biometry and Epidemiology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich. In 2010 and 2011, he completed training as a paramedic at the German Red Cross (DRK) Landesschule Pfalzgrafenweiler. Since 2010, he has been a volunteer paramedic in emergency rescue at the German Red Cross (DRK) Biberach as well as a delegate of the DRK foreign aid.
