“With Prof. Dr. Elmar Buchner, the University Council has elected an experienced and committed scientist to the office of Vice President, who is an excellent addition to our team in the university management,” says Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser. “His research experience, his expertise, which he has contributed to the establishment of our doctoral center, and his many years of commitment to doctoral students make him the ideal person to successfully drive forward the strategic development of HNU in the area of research.”
“The right course for future-oriented research”
“The University Council voted by a large majority for Prof. Dr. Elmar Buchner, who can look back on more than a decade of HNU experience and has already achieved significant successes for the university,” emphasizes the Chair of the University Council, Dr. Beate Merk. “He has been actively involved in the process of obtaining the right to award doctorates and has made a decisive contribution to the development of the Doctoral Center, which is growing steadily under his leadership. We are certain that he will set the right course for future-oriented research at HNU in his new role.”
A central goal of the new Vice President: young scientists
“I am very much looking forward to this new task,” says Prof. Dr. Elmar Buchner. “Research at HNU has developed very positively in recent years; now we want to take its framework conditions to the next level.” The promotion of young researchers remains a central goal of the new Vice President: “We have the brains for good research ideas at the university - the implementation of application-oriented research projects requires many outstanding doctoral students, to whom we want to offer a highly qualified and inspiring scientific environment. My particular concern is to promote the transfer of research into teaching in order to broaden the perspectives for students in a targeted manner.”
