HNU condemns xenophobic graffiti in Neu-Ulm student hall of residence

28.02.2025, University News:

Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) distances itself unequivocally from the recent right-wing extremist and xenophobic graffiti discovered in a private student hall of residence in Neu-Ulm. These slogans are in stark contrast to the values of HNU, which is committed to diversity, tolerance and respectful coexistence.

As the SWP reported on 27 February, an unknown person daubed xenophobic slogans on the room doors of two residents of the student hall of residence on 27 February. One of them is Marlon Bejerano, who comes from Costa Rica and is training to be an IT specialist in a nearby company. Some exchange students and international full-time students from HNU also live in the hall of residence.

"We are appalled by this incident," says Prof Dr Julia Kormann, Vice President of HNU. “Our university is a place of openness and mutual respect. We stand firmly by the side of our international students who live in this hall of residence.”
