Reflection and exchange at the closing event
At the closing event, the 20 participants reviewed their experiences: in small groups, they discussed the opportunities they had gained during the mentoring program and the topics they would like to continue working on in the future. Over the course of the year, they received inspiration for their personal development at numerous events and offers. In workshops and network meetings, they dealt with topics such as “Career@HNU BayernMentoring”, “ Partners - are not a pension plan” and “Strong woman - strong appearance”. Networking and intensive mutual exchange are key pillars of the BayernMentoring program. This is also confirmed by the students: “What I always really enjoyed was the exchange with other female students or mentors,” summarized participant Christina Plugge.
Kick-off of the new mentoring program
In mid-June, the new mentoring program “Shaping the future together - exchange for successful cooperation between female Physician Assistants and female doctors” was also launched for female Physician Assistant students. The specific mentoring of female Physician Assistant students is an important addition to BayernMentoring at HNU. The non-hierarchical exchange with female doctors from the field offers valuable insights and strengthens the students in their transition into the profession. At the kick-off, the participants took the opportunity to discuss their previous practical experiences and learned how to exploit their potential even more efficiently during the practical phases of their studies using Jens Corssen's self-development model. The mentees were particularly inspired by the reports of one of the first graduates of the Physician Assistant course: she shared her positive experiences in her position at Ulm University Hospital with the students. Another highlight was the exchange with an employee of Ulm University Hospital, who works there as a Physician Assistant and studied in the Netherlands. In addition, Dr. Melanie Kapapa, senior physician at the University Hospital's Department of Pediatric Surgery, shared numerous tips on successful collaboration within and between teams.
The pilot event was organized by HNU Professor Prof. Dr. Judith Mantz and Magdalena Fremdling. Dr. Nele Honecker, self-employed organizational psychologist and mentor, guided the participants through the day and enriched the event with her professional input.
