The European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS), the leading European journal in the field of information systems, has published an article by HNU PhD student and former research assistant Anna Wiedemann on process improvements in software development and software operations (DevOps).

Anna Wiedemann conducted her doctoral studies under joint supervision of Prof. Dr. Heiko Gewald (HNU) and Prof. Dr. Helmut Krcmar (Technical University Munich (TUM)). She is currently preparing for the defense of her thesis. Anna’s paper [written in collaboration with Manuel Wiesche, Helmut Krcmar and HNU Professor Heiko Gewald] „Understanding How DevOps Aligns Development and Operations: A Tripartite Model of Intra-IT Alignment“ is based on the topic of her dissertation, the so-called DevOps concept ("Development" and "Operations"). DevOps teams combine software planning, development and operations activities with a focus on product responsibility that are typically separated in classical project management. The paper addresses the challenges that this integration of different areas of competence and knowledge entails and offers a novel approach with the suggested tripartite model. "The focus here is on alignment, i.e. the question of how different skills, IT architectures and processes can be brought closer together," Anna explains.

The renowned European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS) is dedicated to the theory and practice of information systems. It is the only European A-journal in the VHB ranking.

HNU congratulates on this excellent publication success!
