Southeast Asia is a dynamic and fast-growing region that is of great interest to companies, academics and students alike. HNU currently maintains 36 university partnerships in Asia. During their trip, Prof Dr Uta M. Feser and Prof Dr Klaus Lang visited renowned universities such as Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) and Thammasat Business School (TBS) in Bangkok, Taylor's University in Kuala Lumpur, the National Taipei University of Business (NTUB) and the National Chengchi University (NCCU) in Taipei as well as Korea University and Inha University in Seoul.
Promotion of exchange and cooperation
Future collaborations and further exchange places for students were at the forefront of the visits to Southeast Asia. HNU was promised additional exchange places at TBS in Bangkok and Inha University in Seoul. At NTUB in Taipei, the HNU President signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a Student Exchange Agreement (SEA) with exchange places for students. Prof Dr Klaus Lang gave a presentation on AI initiatives at HNU and explained how AI is transforming teaching at HNU.
Cooperation in research
Joint research projects and reciprocal visiting professorships are also planned: Prof Dr Uta M. Feser and Prof Dr Klaus Lang spoke with representatives from Inha University in Seoul, South Korea and Taylor's University in Kuala Lumpur about research cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.
Future prospects
The trip to Southeast Asia was an important step towards strengthening HNU's international network. "The cooperation with our Asian partners offers enormous opportunities for our students and researchers. We look forward to future joint projects and intensive exchange with our Asian partners," emphasised Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser.
HNU attaches great importance to the professional and personal development of its students. English-language courses, international practical projects, stays abroad and international excursions to universities and companies accompanied by professors are all part of the university's internationalisation strategy. At the same time, the proportion of international students at HNU is increasing. HNU sees attracting these highly qualified specialists to the region as a key task.
