Prof. Risius joins the current institute management team, consisting of Professors Heiko Gewald, Andy Weeger and Arne Buchwald. In his new role, he will provide important impetus for the strategic development of the IDI, which emerged from the Institute for Service Management.
The professor for “Digital Society and Online Engagement” with a focus on trust and safety in social media, who is funded as part of the Hightech Agenda Bayern's distinguished professorship program, will contribute his scientific expertise and international network in the field of digital transformation and the effects of the use of digital resources on people to research at the institute. Established IDI exchange formats - such as the IT Executive Circle - provide a platform for involving companies from the region in his research. Overall, he is thus strengthening the research and transfer expertise of the Institute for Digital Innovation in the long term.
The business information scientist studied psychology at the University of Osnabrück and completed his doctorate at Goethe University Frankfurt. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Mannheim before accepting an assistant professorship at Clemson University in South California, USA. This was followed by a position as Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, where he was honored with the Discovery of Early Career Researcher Award as one of the Australian Research Council's Outstanding Early Career Researchers.
