Since 2016, ICDEc has offered experts from various disciplines in the field of digital business an established platform to share their research findings and engage in an exchange of ideas. This year, the conference, themed "Emerging Technologies and Business Innovation," was held at the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Minho in Braga, Portugal.
Presenters included researchers from the Growth and Distribution Strategies Competence Center, whose papers were accepted for this year's conference.
HNU researchers present research on AI in payment systems and customer relationships
The first paper, titled "Seamless Payment through Artificial Intelligence in Food Retail: Factors influencing Purchase Intent," authored by Stephanie Jordan, Maike Netscher, Leinweber Julia, Ceyda Kaplan and Prof. Dr. Alexander H. Kracklauer, focuses on AI-driven payment systems. In their study, the researchers explore the various factors that influence customers' purchase intentions and provide new insights for optimizing the customer experience in food retail.
The second paper - "AI Potentials for Existing Customer Management: From Cross- and Upselling Opportunities to Churn Prevention," authored by Isabel Jordan, Marc Lunkenheimer and Prof. Dr. Alexander H. Kracklauer - highlights the transformative power of AI in managing and retaining existing customers. HNU researchers uncover opportunities for cross- and upselling while addressing customer churn prevention. The paper offers guidance for companies seeking to improve customer relationships and increase long-term profitability.
