Research on the topic of emotions in speech: test subjects aged 16 and over wanted

15.12.2020, Research :

Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) is looking for test persons aged 16 and over to provide voice recordings in German for analysis purposes for a research project. Participation is remunerated.

The Voice Analysis for Customer Emotions (VACE) project deals with the technically supported analysis of emotions in spoken language - in German. For this exciting and complex field of research, the HNU research team needs high-quality recordings of human voices. They are looking for people aged 16 and over to support the team in collecting data.

The experiment will take place in the form of a debating club: After a short preparation time, the test persons are asked to give a pro or con speech of about five minutes on a randomly selected popular topic. The pro or con role is determined at random; preparation for the topic is not necessary. The audio stream of the event will be recorded and analysed as part of the research project. Afterwards, a short questionnaire will be filled out. The evaluation of the data will be anonymous.

In total, the experiment will take about 20 to 30 minutes. As a thank you, each participant will receive an Amazon voucher worth ten euros. The experiment is to be carried out in December and January - online via Zoom due to the current Corona situation. The exact dates will be coordinated directly with the registered participants. Anyone interested in participating can contact the research team by email (vace@hnu.de) or via Instagram (@vace_project).
