Employer Branding Award 2017

16.11.2017, Centre for Growth and Sales Strategy :

The strongest employer brands in the region

It was time again for the annual Employer Branding Awards to be presented on 15 November 2017 as part of the Career Day at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences. More than 1,000 students from the universities in Ulm and Neu-Ulm, Ulm University of Applied Sciences, Ulm School of Communication and Design and the University of Ulm were interviewed about the awareness, sympathy and attractiveness of the 30 companies with the highest turnover and headquarters in the Alb-Danube district, Ulm district or Neu-Ulm. Awards were presented for the top 3 employers, the hidden champion, the rising star of the year, top employers in the district of Neu-Ulm and the top 3 of unaided brand awareness by professors Fabian and Kracklauer, Mr Bürzle (deputy district administrator) and Ms Schill. Especially in times of shortage of skilled workers it is becoming more and more important how future skilled workers perceive their potential employers. Teva ratiopharm managed to assert itself as the best employer as well as taking first place in the category of unsupported brand awareness. Liebherr took 2nd place in the best employer brand category and Seeberger GmbH took 3rd place. The rising star of the year is Uzin Utz AG and Hidden Champion is Zwick GmbH & Co. KG. The top employer 2017 in the district of Neu-Ulm is Peri GmbH.

For the first time, the future specialists and managers were also interviewed about the Candidate Journey (journey of the applicant from the first point of contact with the company to the acceptance/rejection) and their experiences with it. It is elementary to understand the Candidate Journey as part of the employer brand strategy, as negative or positive experiences during the phases of job selection shape the perception of the entire company. Important insights were gained into how future P&MS behave during the job selection process and what expectations they have of their potential employers.
