H.E. Enrique Alberto Thayer Hausz was received by HNU Vice President Prof. Dr. Elmar Steurer, who, together with the head of the International Office (IO), provided insights into the university's student exchange program and guided the guest through Founders Space.
For his part, H.E. Enrique Alberto Thayer Hausz reported on recent developments in his country, which - in contrast to many other countries in the region - is characterized by high political stability and low inflation and does not experience political unrest. The ambassador compared Panama to Singapore in the 1980s. He expected a similar positive development for his country. At the same time, he emphasized the high potential for improvement in the education sector: lecturers are being sought; plans for student exchanges are being intensified. In this context, the ambassador introduced Panama's three leading universities.
The diplomatic visit made possible synergies of a cooperation between HNU and universities in Panama visible; for example, in the field of economics and health management, especially in the study program Physician Assistant.
