06.12.2021, University News :

The Memorandum of Understanding provides for both colleges to develop active international cooperation and exchange teaching and research experiences. The document was signed virtually by Prof. Snait Tamir, Rector of Tel-Hai College, Eli Cohen, Deputy General of Tel-Hai College, and Prof. Dr. Uta Feser, President of Neu-Ulm University. HNU professors Prof. Dr. Daniel Schallmo and Prof. Dr. Jens U. Pätzmann were on site in Israel for the signing.

The two universities signed the "Memorandum of Understanding" on 23 November. In it, they have agreed, initially for a period of five years, to receive mutual educational visits from teaching staff and researchers, to exchange students, to hold international conferences together and to carry out joint research projects. The planned activities include, for example, cooperation within the framework of the recently won third-party funded project "International Startup League", which is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

In her address, Prof. Dr. Uta M. Feser said: "Internationalisation is part of our DNA and in times like these it is more important than ever. Let me quote Albert Einstein, who was born in Ulm: "Learning is experience. Everything else is just information." I am convinced that we will learn a lot from each other. May this cooperation bring exciting projects, new insights and much joy to our colleges."

Tel-Hai College is located in northern Israel, right on the border with Lebanon and Syria. "There is a very family atmosphere on campus. Especially in terms of entrepreneurship, Tel-Hai has a lot to offer," says Prof. Dr Daniel Schallmo. His colleague Prof. Dr. Jens U. Pätzmann is particularly impressed that a college that is far away from Tel Aviv and the Israeli start-up ecosystem attracts so much know-how and personnel through research institutes and the Margalit Startup City.

There are also already plans for the future with Tel-Hai College, such as exchanging master's level courses related to entrepreneurship or intensifying a hackathon in which students from both colleges work in mixed teams.
