"L(i)ebenswerte Region": HNU launches campaign against skills shortage

24.01.2024, Press Release :

Counteracting the shortage of skilled workers: This is the overarching goal of the new website "l(i)ebenswerte Region" with an accompanying social media campaign. The Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) uses the website to showcase the attractiveness of the region around Neu-Ulm, Ulm and Biberach an der Riß as a place to live and work. It is also intended to attract professorial staff to the region.

In six different categories, including work, education and leisure, the website (opens in a new window)provides information about the offers of the "l(i)ebenswerte Region", which includes the two university towns of Neu-Ulm and Biberach as well as the university town of Ulm.

The campaign is part of the joint project "InnoPROF", which is headed on the Neu-Ulm side by HNU Vice President Prof. Dr. Julia Kormann. She also came up with the idea: "Our 'livable region' is very close to my heart. I am delighted that we can use this project to publicize the advantages of this diverse region and inspire and attract existing and new specialists and managers to the region."

Fabian Girschick, Head of Campaign and Digital Content Manager at InnoPROF, describes the digital map as one of the biggest gimmicks: "This interactive tool allows you to explore the region in a fun way and you can save your favorite places directly, revise them again and again and send them to friends. Discovering a region online has never been so much fun!"

In addition, blog posts are published regularly to draw attention to current events in the region or provide information about upcoming projects. In the "5 questions for ..." category, famous personalities from Neu-Ulm, Ulm and Biberach talk about their favorite places in the region and reveal which of the three cities they visit most often.

In the coming months, the website will be populated with further articles and information. Cooperation with associations or institutions from the region is also conceivable.

The InnoPROF joint project of the Neu-Ulm and Biberach universities is addressing the high demand for professorial staff, which will continue to increase until 2030, as part of the federal-state program "FH-Personal".
