The publication is dedicated to the latest research on this topic and provides a systemic overview of the most important acceptance factors. Robin Renoth et al. identify acceptance factors from the categories "environment" and "project organisation and processes" as well as the acceptance factor "knowledge about geothermal energy" (category "society") as dominant. The researchers came to the conclusion that in-depth knowledge about geothermal energy production can increase social acceptance. The involvement of all interest groups in the realisation of geothermal energy projects also plays a key role. According to the HNU and TUM scientists (opens in a new window), it would make sense to investigate these aspects more closely in future as part of acceptance research.
