18.04.2023, Study :

Students from Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU) and the Israeli partner university College of Management Academic Studies (COLMAN) developed innovative solutions for the construction logistics of the future at GEDA, a leading manufacturer of construction elevators.

How will the construction of buildings change in the next few years due to 3D printing and drones, and what challenges will arise for logistics on a construction site? These were the questions the 25 students spent a week addressing. To this end, they conducted interviews with customers and experts, developed innovative solutions and implemented them in prototypes. At the end of the week, they presented their solutions to managers and employees.

Sigrid Sailer, authorized signatory of GEDA GmbH and Matthias Uhl, head of R&D, were enthusiastic: "The students provided valuable impulses for the strategic further development. We are impressed and look forward to further projects in the future." Positive feedback also came from the Swabian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, which initiated and financially supported this project.

The international composition of the teams also contributed to the success of the project in particular, according to HNU Professor Dr. Klaus Lang, who led the project together with Professor Meir Kogman of COLMAN.

Neu-Ulm University bundles its expertise in the field of design thinking in the Design Thinking Lab. A large number of projects have already been carried out with companies in the region. HNU has a long-standing collaboration with COLMAN in the field of research and joint innovation projects.
