In this semester many things went differently due to Corona and one or two compromises had to be made. However, no compromises were made at the conception seminar. Practical relevance and quality of teaching should remain at the usual high level. "Develop a sales strategy for an international market entry" - this was the task for 16 Master students in one of their last courses shortly before graduation. Here they were able to show what they had learned in the last five years of their studies.
The Ulm-based company pervormance International GmbH was available as a practice partner. For this purpose, the students analysed markets, competitors and media behaviour and designed market entry strategies, customer loyalty programmes and defined customer journeys. "We are more than satisfied with the results of the concept seminar. The students really got to grips with the subject matter and developed great impulses for us," says Gabriele Renner, Managing Director of pervormance international GmbH, summarising the results.
"For us professors, the challenge was to give the students a feeling of 'closeness' despite the physical separation, which regularly comes up against limits in communication via video conferencing," says Prof. Kracklauer. But the students were also confronted with an unfamiliar situation: "The contact restrictions during the Covid 19 pandemic did not make it easy. Even our group meetings could only take place virtually. But we made the best of it," says Sara Benedita Pinto Magalhães, describing her experience and that of her group. In her final presentation she proved that the group had worked together successfully despite other circumstances. She delivered one of the best sales concepts this semester.
