The 20th anniversary of the award ceremony will take place in Munich. The event will also be streamed online or broadcast on local television from 7 pm. In addition to Luca Fuchs, 32 other graduates from Bavarian colleges, art colleges and universities will receive the prize in the science category. The Bavarian Culture Prize is awarded by Bayernwerk in partnership with the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and Culture. Markus Blume, Minister of State for Science and Culture, will present an additional special prize at the event.
Market launch of a new product in the USA
In collaboration with Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH, Luca Fuchs has written his practice-orientated master's thesis. In it, he deals with the launch of two specific road-rail excavators on the US market. Using an established strategy guide, he developed a market launch strategy and analysed the market, the customers, the product, the competitors, the value proposition and the sales outlets. Luca Fuchs comes to the conclusion that the products are well suited for launch in the USA and develops suggestions as to how the launch could be particularly successful.
Creating the reality of tomorrow
Dr Egon Leo Westphal, CEO of Bayernwerk AG, sees science as the basis for the reality of tomorrow: "Our world is changing at a rapid pace. As an energy company, for example, we have long since arrived at the realisation of the energy future. The energy transition is becoming more and more part of society. Innovation, technology and science are the foundations for changing realities or creating new ones - this applies not only to the energy industry, but to all areas of life. Science shows us what is necessary and what is possible. This year's prizewinners from the academic world get to the bottom of important social issues and their work provides valuable impetus for the reality of today and tomorrow. We would like to honour this with our award."
The Bavarian Minister of Science and the Arts, Markus Blume, emphasises: "Science and art are closely linked - they are the lifeblood of a liberal society. It is right and important that we honour young talents from our universities for their ideas and courage in the science category of the Bavarian Culture Prize. The award winners revitalise our science location with their spirit for the future. This shows that our universities are real hotbeds of talent and innovation. I wish all graduates the very best for their future careers. Keep up the good work - you are the future of our country!" The prizes in the science category are endowed with 3,000 euros each. All 33 prizewinners will also receive the bronze statue "Gedankenblitz" (Flash of Thought) sculpted by Schwandorf sculptor Peter Mayer. The prizewinners are selected by the Bavarian state colleges, art academies and universities. The art prize winners are in turn selected by a jury of experts.
