A total of six company representatives presented their expertise and their approach to the topic of digital sustainability in keynote speeches. Exciting practical examples gave the participants an insight into the important topic of pursuing sustainability goals with the help of digital technologies: Sustainability initiatives rely on digitalization to achieve their goals. Another subject of the presentations was that it is already important when developing software to create it in a way that conserves resources as much as possible. This can mean, for example, that computationally intensive processes are relocated to regions where there is currently plenty of green energy available. In addition, digitization can help bring sustainable energy to developing countries. The speakers agreed that the joint consideration of digitization and sustainability is still new, but is continuously gaining in importance.
