The structure of the degree programme is based on a balanced weighting of classical, business administration subjects, expanded by information technology modules, such as digitalisation and new technologies, future-oriented working methods (agile methods, design thinking) as well as intra- and entrepreneurship. Beyond the scientific and methodological qualification, students learn personality-related key qualifications and reflection skills for taking on personnel management tasks.
Programme Director Professor Dr Daniel Schallmo says about the new part-time Bachelor's programme: "It is important for companies to deal professionally with the topic of digitalisation in order to remain competitive. This requires qualified employees who can help shape the change from different perspectives. The concept of our study programme provides for practical application and transfer into business practice in addition to the professional qualification. This is an advantage for everyone involved: the students work on real and relevant projects and the companies receive valuable impulses for the digital transformation."
Actively shaping the digital transformation
Digital Management and Technologies can also be studied without an Abitur. By recognising vocational training and work experience, it is possible to shorten the standard study period of ten semesters. The teaching of the learning content and the exchange of students take place increasingly online in this degree programme. The attendance times are approximately eight days per semester, mostly on Fridays and Saturdays. The concept also includes an excursion. Students who successfully complete the programme are awarded a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree.
Alumni of the degree programme can take on a leadership position as a digital manager, digital professional, business developer or digital consultant and form an interface between company management and individual departments. In everyday professional life, this creates the opportunity to actively shape the digital transformation and participate in dynamic change processes.
Tuition fees of 1,550 € plus student union fee are charged per semester. This includes the costs for participation in all classroom events, the e-learning units and the supervision by the lecturers.
